Awa Kaitiakitanga
Awa Kaitiakitanga means a guardian of the land ocean sky and nature, ( basically looking after our land for the better )
On monday 19th August Turanganui went tree planting down by Waikani stream,
We were split into our base groups and did three rotations.
My base started with laying news paper down around the plants and shoveled dirt around the plants.
The next rotation was observing around us like what the temperature was, what types of birds we could see extr.
The last rotation was digging holes for later on when we had to plant the different plants and trees
As a Hub we planted the trees in our pe teams.
I really enjoyed giving back to our community by being active and just participating in general.
So one day when I am older I can go down and have a look at such a amazing job Turanganui has done.
