Gif slideshow

Today we learned about being scammed on the internet.
First we watched a video on how it can happen and the difference and how you should respond/do.
The task was to create three slides about three different things about a scam situation, mine was the green lock, the link in the browser bar and things about the website/page which can make it more obvious and the differences with the real thing and the scam.
Once we were done we created it into a gif.

Have you ever used wevideo before

Today in Maikalani we created a video of our year in Turanganui Hub ( all our memories and moments that are special to us ) We created our video on wevideo example going for walks and having so much opportunities given to us.Wevideo is so handy and useful you can upload images and videos, sound recordings, music, titles/subtitles, backgrounds, transitions and a whole lot more.

Have you ever made a spread sheet

This is a spreadsheet we created, so we had to make a copy to clarify it was owned by me.
We learnt the basics and how to cooperate with the spreadsheet tools eg ( adapting towards tools )
The spreadsheet was based on the All Blacks.
We first engaged/played around with the tools and how to cooperate with the main features.
We choose a topic across the top bar, ( first name, surname, position, weight, height, caps, test points ) I choose heights, we used pacific tools to create a bar graph ( this was our first attempt basically a play around with colour, shape, size ect.
Our next task was to choose 3 players from the All Blacks and on a special page had all information about each individual persons details about them, a long list of their names, once you click on their name, you had to choose 5 topics, i choose runs, passes, offloads, metres made, and tackles.
I then would load all my data into boxes and automatically will show the existing results, from there on you could edit the bar graph to your liking abilities.

Do you know who George Bridge is ?

This is a piece of work we did today.
What we did: We got given two different explanations to choose from either focusing on one player and researching 3 options out of their info, ( metres made, runs, tackles, passes and more )
Or choosing 3 different players and lean towards one piece of info, ( metres made )
What was challenging: In my opinion using labelled for reuse because it didn't have the exact pictures that i would of preferred.
What did i like: Learning information about a local rugby player, George Bridge.
New skills that i can now use and can affect different things that i use, along as cybersmart learning.
What i would do differently next time: I would be more prepared like change the writing colour and make sure things are ready.

Have you ever used Tour builder?

Today in Manaiakalani we learnt how to use Tour builder.

For me this was my first time using this app.
We made a map of either the cooks cove walk if you went on that or the three rugby world cup teams you think would win, I choose Cooks Cove.

The way this app operates is you create a custom map of were you went ( from and to )

You would type in your first location and my first location was Gisborne Intermediate, from there on you would need to clock your location on the world.

So from Gisborne to Tolaga, the same them applies for that, type the location from Tolaga bay and once you have found the correct placing for your arrow to be, click it and it will create a yellow line that you can follow.

Once i added all my locations and was pleased i then screencastify my learning by talking into the microphone and explained how i got from location to location.

The new Scotland shoe

Today we created a shoe for ourselves.
Once you have created your shoe you would take a photo on web cam timer and take a action photo of yourself running.
Then you would type up removebg and download your image and then you would receive a clean copy to put on a google drawing the main thing was to crop your shoe onto your foot.
Then your creativity can take place you could add a background and anything you desire.
But it had to have your rugby world cup colours or flag.
The first step was to polyline your shoe it could be any shoe of your desire.
Then once you have polylined your shoe you would colour your shoe in with your country's colours.
Im Scotland our colours for rugby are blue, white, and purple.
I also polylined the Scottish flag in black and placed it at the black of the shoe.

What do you think of Scotland

Today I was learning to polyline and create. I also learned to cooperate through google drawing comments to communicate with my partner.
I enjoyed using new tools and that we based it on our learning in the classroom.
I found it challenging to use specific tools when it came to times were i knew a different way.
My digital learning object shows Jacks and my creation representing Scotland for our p.e teams for the rugby world cup.For our animal we decided we would go for a Loch ness monster, for our flower we went with a Thistle. And of course we had the Scottish flag.
Next time I would change or liked to of had a background of Scotland.

what have you done for your science fair

This year Bri and me did our science fair together we did does colour affect taste. It was based on a idea that we could show and use our rise values towards.
In my opinion this was very beneficial for not only Briana and me but for everyone.
This was a great opportunity to take and be apart of, were everyone could participate by being unique.
Showing all there hard mahi in such a variety of different ways.
The food that we tested was mac`n cheese, cupcakes, lemonade.
The die colours we used was blue, green and pink.
We did blue mac`n cheese pink lemonade, and green cupcakes.
We had heaps of results mostly all different thoughts towards the main difference.
Everyone made new accomplishments and their work is very influential, and did a conspicuous jobs.

Giving back to our community

Awa Kaitiakitanga
Awa Kaitiakitanga means a guardian of the land ocean sky and nature, ( basically looking after our land for the better )
On monday 19th August Turanganui went tree planting down by Waikani stream,
We were split into our base groups and did three rotations.
My base started with laying news paper down around the plants and shoveled dirt around the plants.
The next rotation was observing around us like what the temperature was, what types of birds we could see extr.
The last rotation was digging holes for later on when we had to plant the different plants and trees
As a Hub we planted the trees in our pe teams.
I really enjoyed giving back to our community by being active and just participating in general.
So one day when I am older I can go down and have a look at such a amazing job Turanganui has done.

Do you think you are smart enough for my maths quiz

Last week at Manaiakalani we started to create our own Maths quizzes.
The main key for this was hyperlinking our answers, the basics were you had to come up with a setting mine was football  the background story was if you score a goal you have answered the question correctly but if you didn't answer correctly it would say try again.
This all works by using the hyperlinks hyperlinking back and forth to the slides.
My questions were about long division, It will show you a variety of answers to choose from.
to answers correctly you need to figure the question out.
Next time I would most likely change my maths question to like times tables or something easier so that most people can answer the question without taking 2 minutes.

Do you use the Internet ?

Today In base Mill we Learnt about how and why we use technology, Eg who we stay in contact with family and friends, what apps we use to stay in contact like snapchat, messenger and more.
I found this challenging because I didn't have any drawnings / creations of my own.
I enjoyed actually learning about how I myself stay in contact and what I use everyday.

Have you ever made a animation?

Today I was learning How to do Brush animation and learning how to animate on a computer.

I enjoyed That I had never done animations on a computer before so the first couple of times it was hard and put me in the learning pit but over all it was awesome.

I found it hard to remember to duplicate all the time once I had adding things on my animation.
My animation shows the nine Matariki stars all appearing and the names of them.

Next time I would change how I did things and be more efficient.

Can you divided numbers ? I know I can

So here is a explanation on how to divide,
Today I have explained how to do it with using screencastify and google drawings.
Our equation today is 320 divided by 80, I am going to break it down in easy steps so you can learn it and do along with me.
First step the equation, well you have the equation which is 320 divided by 80 then you are going to break it down and write it like this 320 divided by 10 divided by 8, you are probably wondering why have I done it this way because let me tell you it makes divided way easier to do.
You are doing it because it depends on what number you are dividing by in this case we are dividing in the 10s because your dividing by 80 .
Write a equals sigh underneath ( you always do your working out on the right side of your equal sighs) so in your head work out what is 320 divided by 10, so that equals 32,
so write 32 beside your equal sigh once you have done that you have to work out what i s32 divided by 8 which equals 4.
Remember were we are on your 2nd equal sigh and you have writing 32 divided by 8.
Last step is writ another equal sigh and once you have done that all you need to work out is what is 32 divided by 8 equals 4

After that we had to insert a unlabelled image, and eventually cropped the image to any shape we liked,  Finally write about why we choose this person. ( and change the background colour ) I choose green because Nancy wake was in the army/ seccert spy.
