Rise values
Leadership is not a position or title it is an action and example.
For example respect, integrity, self management and excellence. These might just seem like four words but things like this can grow great people for the better.
So here's my explanation of what I think the rise values mean to me.
Respect
We act with consideration for others, ideas and share information openly to inspire trust and encourage collaboration. A feeling of approval for someone or something done by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
Because leadership is not a position or title it is an action and example.
Integrity
The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.
Do the right thing for not only your wellbeing but for others.
Integrity is considered as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of someone's actions.
The way you do things and the way you treat people and their belongings.
Self Management
Taking of responsibility for one's own behaviour and wellbeing.
Self management refers to lots of things like organisational skills, time, decision making, confidence, problem solving and a whole lot more that can participate or be under self management.
Self Management is critical for a lot of things, self management leads a pathway to success.
Gis Int has a train and once your on the train there's no hopping of it because once it takes off your for a great ride.
Excellence
Excellence is about aiming high for your personal best and celebrating success.
To me excellence means you're making a decision to participate even though you might struggle to give it your all and your values will shine the most.
Excellence carries pride, pride on our backs, backs of so many students that go to Gisborne Intermediate.
Conclusion
In conclusion they might just seem like four random words. Trust me once you use them you can aim and achieve the impossible
GisInt is an amazing school with creative, sporty, unique, tall, short, funny and heaps of just extraordinary young people.
using all of these skills that give you a key to unlock the future, and remember don't lose that key!
So at the end of last term we started writing a report about the RISE values.
I enjoyed giving my personal opinion about what I think they mean and how to use them in everyday life.
Next time I would make my paragraphs bigger.
